At the heart of Oscar

AT THE HEART OF OSCAR
Bumping in to the staff at Oscar on their fundraising pub-crawl for the Children’s Heart Federation was enough to scare anyone - but behind those masks there could only be hearts of gold. A night out on the tiles, complete with hangovers, was just the start of more to come when Oscar launched a serious campaign in support of the charity.
A happier, healthier and longer life is the message that Oscar offers to its pet customers – a message that the Children’s Heart Federation would like to share. Every charity survives on funding and often a personal experience opens the door to recognising their need.
Richard Martin, Oscar Managing Director, and his wife, Becky, had their lives turned upside down when their son, Angus, was born with a serious heart condition. The Children’s Heart Federation supported them through the anxiety they had to endure while Angus faced major surgery. Angus is now four years old and enjoying life to the full. Richard and Becky are over the moon but the memory lives on, enough to become involved and help others who are faced with the trauma of childhood heart disease.
Working with animals makes the world go round at Oscar; helping children at the same time is going to make it go even faster. Who said, ‘Don’t work with animals and children’?
