Mark's swap for the top

FORMER publisher Mark Wormald turned over a new chapter in his life two years ago and has never looked back.
Mark, 48, discovered the Sandler Sales Institute on the internet and was so impressed with our unique sales training programme that he quit his high-powered job and set up his own Sandler franchise.
Now after just two years of helping businessmen and women improve their sales techniques, Mark is happier than ever.
He has been named as Sandler Franchisee of the year and he hopes to end an amazing year by seeing his turnover top £250,000.
And what’s more he has immense satisfaction from helping his clients achieve their sales goals with a system that turns traditional selling techniques on their head.
The Sandler system – pioneered in the USA by legendary sales guru David H Sandler – is so revolutionary in its approach that the sales person no longer wastes time chasing potential buyers who are never going to say yes.
Time-wasting prospects and those who cannot afford the service being offered are identified early so the salesman’s time can be properly invested in prospects who really do want to buy.
The training scheme includes regular coaching over months, so that Sandler clients are able to perfect their sales technique until they have mastered skills that will really boost their business.
Mark says: “When I discovered the Sandler system it struck a chord with me immediately. I’ve been in some form of sales since I was a kid. But this was totally different to anything I’d come across.
“I could see why it works so well. Typically, people who launch a business will have technical skills and, often, good business skills, too.
“But they will lack the most important talent of all needed to grow a business – the ability to sell.
“The Sandler system focuses on why people buy. It’s a proven system that has helped thousands of businesses over the years.”
He adds: “We get great results for our clients and that has a multiplying effect – they recommend us to more.”
In fact, Mark’s satisfied clients recommend him so often he has earned the coveted Sandler Franchisee of the Year title as well as two prestigious gold awards.
Shaun Thomson CEO of Sandler UK recommended Mark for UK Franchisee of the Year not only for the sales performance of his new business, but also for keeping true to the Sandler spirit of growing his business by helping others.
He says, “Mark has proved to be the perfect role model for becoming a successful franchisee. He follows the Sandler franchise system closely, has an abundance mentality and a willingness to share his experience and time with clients and other franchisees alike.”
Not bad for a small business run with a part-time assistant in rural Herefordshire, where Mark’s work/life balance has improved dramatically.
Mark, a 48-year-old father of three used to spend much of his time away from home and travelled thousands of miles seeing clients in his magazine publishing business.
Now, Mark’s business success means he can also enjoy a happier home life with his wife Vanessa and children, Matilda, ten, Sam, eight and Henry, four in their Herefordshire home.
“I used to have to spend nights, away travelling thousands of miles a year. But now I’m usually home by 6.30 pm in time to see my family before bed time.
“It’s a fantastic lifestyle and I look forward to work every day. Best of all, I know I’m truly appreciated in my current role.”
